Power in areas on Bluffton’s north and northeast side was interrupted for approximately two hours early Friday afternoon due to an equipment failure at the city’s north side substation.
Power went out about 12:10 p.m. and was restored about 2 p.m., said Jon Oman, the city’s operations manager. It took some time to switch to other substations to restore power.
The outage took out street lights on North Main Street. The outdoor temperatures were in the teens at the time of the outage.
Oman said the areas affected were north and east of the substation, which is at the southwest corner of the intersection of Main Street/Ind. 1 and Madison Street/Wells County Road 150N.
