Clarence Warren Ostrander, 84 of Bluffton, passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 29, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1942, in Bluffton, Ind. to Charles W. & Dorthea (Hamilton) Ostrander. He graduated from P.A. Allen High School in 1960 and joined the United States Navy at the age of 17. He served in Tennessee and Hawaii, Midway Island and Barbers Point, and was honorably discharged in 1963.
Clarence returned to Bluffton and helped his uncle on the family farm. He also worked at Franklin Electric for 30 years, Almco Steel Products, Driggs Farms in Decatur and retired from Peytons Northern. Clarence enjoyed riding motorcycles and working in his shop. In his later years, Clarence could be seen driving his lawnmower around town.
On Sept. 25, 1997, Clarence and Virginia M. (Eiting) were married in Tipton, Ind.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Virginia Ostrander of Bluffton, and a very small and loving family.
Funeral Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Jeff Lemler officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will follow at McFarren Cemetery in rural Bluffton with military Honors by the United State Navy Funeral Honors and American Legion Post #111 Honor Guard of Bluffton.
Memorials may be made to the family and directed to the funeral home.
