
Kevin Douglas Allen, 64, of Nashville, Indiana, formerly of Petroleum, passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026 at his home in Nashville.
He was born on Sunday, May 28, 1961, in Bluffton. Kevin was a 1979 graduate of Southern Wells High School. He furthered his education at ITT in Fort Wayne where he received his associates degree.
Kevin devoted his life as a surveyor and civil engineer. He worked for several businesses throughout Indiana, including Warren T. Hobson & Sons, The Story Inn, Beam Longest & Neff LLC, Paul Kite and most recently for EGIS group.
Two of his most prized projects included the restoration/preservation of the Story Inn wedding venue and the Bear Wallow Distillery tasting room. He enjoyed politics (too much at times) and was affiliated with the Brown Co. Republican Party.
Kevin was a wonderful cook and enjoyed fishing; especially fly fishing on the Au Sauble River in Michigan and walleye fishing Canada.
Kevin will be forever missed by his parents, V. Eugene and Ruby Nadine (Edmundson) Allen, both of Bluffton; brother, Charles (Asenet) Allen of Garland, North Carolina; sister, Susan (Doug) Hovermale of Clarks Hill, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Latrice, Jadie, Chaffin, Corby, Avery, Casey, Cody, Kiley, Brittany, Brayam and Janetssa; 24 great-nieces and great-nephews; and so many others who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, C. Leroy and Helen Irene (Keller) Allen; and maternal grandparents, Harold and Ivory (Garringer) Edmundson.
A Celebration of Kevin’s life will take place at a later date.
