Harry Lee White, a devoted husband, loving father and cherished grandfather, went home peacefully to be with our Lord on July 16, 2025, in Sun City Center, Florida, at the age of 79. 

He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. He courageously fought a battle with prostate cancer.

2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”  

Born on Aug. 11, 1945, in Auburn, Harry graduated from Harlan High School and attended International Business College. He married the love of his life, Cheryl, and shared 59 wonderful years of marriage together. 

Harry is survived by his wife, Cheryl; son, Harry Lee White, Jr. (Tracy); daughter, Stephanie White Ura (Robert); son, Chris White (Joanna); grandchildren, Haley White Beadle (Triston), Addison Ura, Kaitlyn White, Alexandra Merusi (Joe), Joshua Ura, Audrey White and Carlie White; and one great-grandson, Elijah Merusi. Harry looked forward to and always enjoyed the yearly summer vacations which included his children and grandchildren which began the summer of 2000. His family finds comfort in the hope of Christ’s resurrection and future reunion in God’s kingdom.

Harry worked for Nipsco (which later became known as NiSource) at various offices in Northern Indiana for almost 40 years. 

A man of unwavering faith, Harry lived a life dedicated to serving God and loving his family. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering trust in God’s plan shone through in every aspect of his life. He found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life.

A visitation will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Markle Church of Christ located at 455 E. Morse St., Markle, IN 46770.
