NMS boys’ basketball win two against Riverview
Norwell’s seventh grade boys basketball team cruised to a 47-31 victory Wednesday over the Riverview Raiders with a balanced offensive attack. Oakley Bryant led the way for Norwell with a game-high 15 points followed by Jace Reinhard with 12, Blake Fuess (9), Wes Dafforn (5), Paxton Frisch (4) and Weston Harris (2).
The Norwell eighth grade boys dominated Riverview 35-13. Landon Clark led Norwell with eight points, followed by Griffin Bailey and Titus Jacob (6), Cody Waldman (4), Benji Lukins, Maddux Thornton and Jason Lenwell (3) and Miles Daugherty (2).

BHMS girls triumph over Heritage in hoops
Bluffton-Harrison’s eighth grade and seventh grade girls’ basketball teams toppled Heritage on Tuesday.
The seventh grade team won 20-2 in a two-quarter contest. Adrienne Smallman and Averie Pearson led the tally with six points each, followed by Cadence Lehman, Ava Scheiman, Olivia Brown and Alaya Reinhard with two points each.
The eighth graders came out on top 51-19, with Khloe Gehrett bringing 16 points, Averie Patto (8), Alanna Croft (6), Gracie Jellison, Madeleine Morgan, Anna Hartman and Audrey Mechling (4), and Luci Jenkins and Josie Nash (2).
Norwell middle school beat AC in girls’ basketball
Both Norwell middle school girls’ basketball teams beat Adams Central Tuesday night.
The eighth grade girls’ team cruised to victory, beating the Jets 57-9. Ally Graft led the team with nine points, followed by Kendall Fegley, Elizabeth Mann and Stella Tumbleson (8), Hadley Meyer (7), Avery Thornton (5), Kynnlei Beste and Rilynn Hoopingarner (4) and Hadie Isch (2).
The seventh grade team earned a hard-fought victory, 24-20. The game’s top scorer were Piper Krumma, Paizley Price amd Rylie Van’t Hof with six points each, followed by Emma Moon (4) and Mercy Meyer (2).
BHMS boys’ basketball take win over Heritage
Bluffton-Harrison’s boys’ basketball teams slammed Heritage’s seventh and eighth grade teams by double-digit wins on Monday.
The eighth grade team cruised to a 43-14 win. Maddox White led the offensive charge with 17 points, followed by Ethan Ribich and Parker Christal (5), Braxton Bebout (4), Vince Lambert and Kamdyn Shuman (3), and Keaton Ingram, Wyatt Holmes and Croy Stout (2).
In the seventh grade matchup, the Tigers dominated Heritage 38-6. Riker Beste led the way with 14 points, followed Kreigh Ault (8), Kole Kiefer and Davin Drayer (4), and Easton Schipper, Clive Gerber, Simeon Terry, and Carter Bell (2).
Bluffton City Gym hosts Saturday basketball games
Six basketball teams played at the Bluffton City Gym on Saturday.
• Optimists/Clean Fuels beat Parlor City Trophy, 44-29. Top scorers for the Optimistis/Clean Fuels were Maddox White (23) and Riker Beste (9).
• EP Graphics/Peyton’s Northern beat S&Y Huggins 41-37 in overtime. Top scorers for the EP Graphics were Wyatt Holmes (21) and Kole Kiefer (6).
• Moose Lodge 242/Farm Bureau Insurance beat National Oil 56-56. Top scorers for the Lodge/Farm Bureau were Landon Clark (19), Miles Daughtery (18) and Kamdyn Shuman.

The Elks hosted their annual hoop shoot tourney for children 8-13 years-old on Saturday.
