Wells County elementary schools practiced precautions for a potential shooting threat Friday afternoon.
According to superintendents at Southern Wells, Bluffton-Harrison and Norwell schools, law enforcement notified the districts that an individual in Blackford County with alleged ties to Wells County had posted “I’m going to shoot up a preschool” on Facebook. All four elementary schools continued their daily schedule with precautions, keeping students inside the building and working with law enforcement to ensure a safe dismissal.
Dismissal at each location continued without issue, administrators reported. Norwell and Southern Wells families were notified following the incident.
