Founded by Eric Hoffman in 2016, Mr. Kool Heating & Cooling began operations out of Eric’s barn in Van Buren, Indiana before expanding to its current location in Bluffton, following the acquisition of Schwartz Plumbing & Heating. Under the leadership of Eric Hoffman, along with managers Ron Kenworthy and Christopher Duckwall, the company has grown significantly, doubling its staff since 2021 and building a reputation for responsiveness and reliability.
“We strive to get to our customers as quickly as possible,” said Ron, who has managed operations since fall 2021. “When people call us, it’s often an emergency—whether it’s a water leak, sewer backup, or HVAC issue. We aim to respond promptly because we understand the urgency of these situations.”
Christopher Duckwall, who has also been with the company since July 2021, shared insights about the daily operations and challenges faced by the team. “We manage calls, schedule jobs, and handle inventory, often filling in ourselves when needed. It can be hectic, but it’s a labor of love. Our primary focus remains on serving the people of Bluffton and the surrounding areas.”

The company handles everything from routine maintenance and minor repairs to large-scale installations and remodels.
