Thursday, 8:28 p.m., Meridian Road and 1100N, Ossian. Report of man stopped in vehicle near intersection, vehicle had flat tire.
ACCIDENTS
City:
Saturday, Aug. 31, 11:03 a.m., Horton Street at Liberty Street. Victoria Wayman, 21, Bluffton, was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer and failed to yield the right-of-way to a 2010 BMW driven by Gabriel Jones, 18, Bluffton. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Damage did not exceed $10,000.
Sunday, 4:17 a.m., S.R. at the intersection of Willowbrook Trail. Officer arrived the scene to find a 2011 Chevrolet Malibufacing northbound in the southbound lane. The vehicle appeared to have left the northbound lane, crossing the center lane and striking the walking path, going over the curb, and hitting the lighted walk sign. The driver, Douglas D. Ferris, 37, Ossian, admitted to drinking and driving but didn’t believe he was in an accident. A nine-year-old was in the back seat at the time. The vehicle was towed by Pemberton’s and Ferris was arrested. Damage did not exceed $10,000.
Tuesday, 11:17 a.m., 2100 N Main Street. Julia M. Taylor, 29, Bluffton was driving a 2012 GMC Terrain in the Walmart parking lot and was reportedly not paying attention when the vehicle collided head-on with a stop sign. Vehicle was towed by Freeman’s. Damage did not exceed $5,000.
Tuesday, 4:21 p.m., Main Street at Dustman Road. Robert L. Meyer, 69, Bluffton, was driving a 2024 Dodge Durango and began turning through the northbound lanes from the turn lane when a 2017 Ford Edge driven by Coty Smelser, 36, Ossian, struck Meyer’s vehicle. Meyer was transported by EMS with complaint of arm and shoulder pain. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Damage did not exceed $50,000.
Tuesday, 5 p.m., S.R. 1 at the intersection of Capri Court. Mykenzie S. Price, 22, Bluffton, was driving her 2014 Subaru Forester southbound on S.R. 1, turning left through a yellow light at the intersection when a northbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck driven by David Bradler, 27, Bluffton, struck her vehicle. Price stated that a northbound vehicle had waved her on to turn and Bradler had attemted to beat the yellow light before the collision. Bradler said he did not see the vehicle turning. Damage did not exceed $2,500.
Wednesday, 6:58 p.m., 1111 S Adams St. Cody Iorg, 28, Summersville, Kentucky, was backing a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia and sideswiped a parked trailer belonging to First Fleet. Iorg then pulled forward causing damage to the other parked trailer next to the one he originally struck. Damage did not exceed $10,000.
Thursday, 5:10 p.m., S.R. 1 at the intersection of Dustman Road. Jalen C. Fiechter, 23, Bluffton, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck northbound on S.R. 1 and thought he had the green light and a 2020 Honda Odyssey driven by Timothy Drayer, 48, Bluffton, struck the vehicle. Drayer stated that he though he had the green light heading west on Dustman Road when Drayer ran the red light. An independent witness stated that Fiechter was the one to run the red light. Both vehicles were towed. Damage did not exceed $50,000.

Thursday, 6:37 p.m., Super-Pufft. Fire alarm. Tested for carbon monoxide.
Thursday, 9:33 p.m., 5817 N Main St., Uniondale. Report of natural gas smell in home for about 30 minutes.
Thursday, 11:23 p.m., 522 N 500 E, Bluffton. Tree limb down on power lines.
ARRESTS
Stephen Patrick Butt, 32, Bluffton; harassment, a Class B misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,000.
Edwin Urius Munos, 23, Fort Wayne; operating without ever obtaining license, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $500.
