Raiders top Warriors in ACAC girls’ golf match
Southern Wells hosted and beat Woodlan in girls’ golf at Dogwood Glen on Wednesday.
The Raiders won by a score of 206 to the Warriors’ 228.
Kolbie Beavans was the medalist and top golfer for the Raiders with a score of 48, followed by Callie Ripperger (50), Sophie Meeks (53) and both Erika Beavans and Collena Reeves (55).
Southern Wells will be at South Adams at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.
Tigers remain unbeaten in boys’ tennis, beats Generals
Bluffton improved to an unbeaten 5-0 in boys’ tennis with a sweep over Wayne at home on Wednesday.

Norwell defeated Oak Farm 3-2 in a junior varsity only match at home Wednesday night.

Tigers sweep Patriots in middle school football
Bluffton defeated Jay County in middle school football Tuesday night.
The eighth grade team won 32-18. Chase Kistler was the star of the show, rushing for 259 yards and four touchdowns on 19 attempts. He also caught a 10-yard pass. Croy Stout took two catches for 26 yards. Ethan Ribich went 6-10 at quarterback for 40 yards.
On defense, Cameron Simpson led the team with seven tackles. Wyatt Holmes and Kistler had three each. The Tigers allowed two touchdowns on kick returns.
The seventh grade team won 12-6. Kreigh Ault went 3-4 at quarterback for 37 yards and a 14-yard touchdown pass to Riker Beste. Easton Schipper also had an 18-yard catch. Davin Drayer had 143 yards on nine carries and a touchdown.
Drayer led the defense with five tackles. Kole Kiefer and Beste had four each.
Norwell Middle School hosts cross country invitational
Norwell hosted its middle school cross country event on Wednesday.
The boys’ team finished fifth with a team score of 133, sitting behind first-place Summit with 55 points, Maple Creek second (66), 3. Woodside (90) and Southern Wells fourth (114).
Top runners for the boys were Maddux Thornton in seventh place with a time of 11:03.5, Easton Reinhard eighth (11:08.4), Titus Jacob 38th (12:12.0), Paxton Frisch 39th (12:15.4), Miles Daughtery 41st (12:17.5), Nolan Hitzfield 46th (12:25.3) and Harrison Koop 48th (12:33.4).
The girls’ team finished in sixth place with a score of 152, sitting behind Maple Creek in first at 18, Summit second (90), Eastbrook third (106), Indian Springs fourth (125) and St. Charles/St. Jude fifth (144).
Top runner for the girls were Leah Randol in 25th place with a time of 13:20.0, Kenley Reed 27th (13:25.5), Hadley Meyer 30th (13:29.7), Avery Thornton 33rd (13:41.7) and Haley Lewis 38th (13:54.0).
Knights split middle school football games with Barons
Norwell’s Middle School football teams left DeKalb with a split Wednesday night.
The eighth grade team won 14-0 and improved to 1-1 on the season.
The seventh grade team fell 6-0 for their first loss.
