A body located in a Bluffton retention pond Sunday afternoon has been confirmed to be that of a 37-year-old man who was reported missing on Friday.
The Wells County Coroner’s Office identified the person as 37-year-old Justin Stanley of Bluffton.
According to a press release from the Bluffton Police Department, officers responded to a report of a body in a pond near the 1800 block of north Main Street in Bluffton on Sunday afternoon. The release was updated Monday confirming Stanley’s identity. The manner and cause of death are still pending toxicology results.
The department initially requested help locating Stanley on Friday, advising that he was last seen at Walmart in Bluffton around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Wells County Coroner, Bluffton Fire Department, Wells County EMS and DNR Law Enforcement assisted the department at the scene.
