The Wells County Chamber of Commerce, along with its dedicated staff and Ambassadors, is pleased to announce that Yergy’s BBQ has been named the November Member of the Month. This recognition comes in conjunction as Yergy’s BBQ celebrates an impressive seven years in business, demonstrating their commitment to serving the community and delivering exceptional barbecue.
Owners Matt and Adia Yergler were met with a delightful surprise as the Chamber presented them with this prestigious accolade. Yergy’s BBQ, located at 1415 S Main Street in Bluffton, has become a beloved culinary gem in the area, known for its mouthwatering barbecue and unwavering dedication to the community.
“We are so glad to be a part of this community, and we can’t thank you all enough,” said Matt Yergler, owner of Yergy’s BBQ. “Being a part of the Chamber and a community that supports businesses is really awesome. Our community understands how small businesses are the backbone of what makes a strong local community. It means a lot to us to be recognized for this honor.”
Yergler expressed his gratitude for the Chamber’s support and the importance of small businesses coming together to thrive. “It’s moments like this that make you pause, stop, and think of everything we have accomplished and it’s pretty humbling,” he added.
Over the past seven years, Yergy’s BBQ has learned that sustaining a business and providing exceptional service requires hard work and dedication. Matt Yergler emphasized, “It’s a lot harder than we probably anticipated, such as keeping customers and growing a business for seven years in the industry that we’re in. We have to be on top of our game, and that can be hard at times, but it’s also very rewarding.”
Yergy’s BBQ’s success is attributed to the incredible support of the community and their commitment to giving back. “When we started this barbecue, we gave it to the glory of God because we know that it is bigger than us. It is by the grace of God that we were even able to do what we do,” Matt Yergler explained. The Yerglers see giving back to the community as a duty rooted in their faith, and their approach has been incredibly rewarding.
Matt Yergler’s journey with BBQ began around 15 years ago through a ministry in town, where he cooked food for those in need. His love for cooking BBQ grew, and with the support of the community, Yergy’s BBQ eventually found its home in Bluffton.
Yergy’s BBQ wants the community to know how much they appreciate the support received over the past seven years. “It hasn’t been an easy seven years, but with the support of the community, we couldn’t be more grateful,” Matt Yergler said. He also expressed his gratitude to the hard-working staff and their contribution to the restaurant’s success.
Yergy’s BBQ is open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. They also offer catering services for events of any size, ensuring that nothing is too big or too small for them to handle. As the holiday season approaches, Yergy’s BBQ is gearing up to smoke turkeys for Thanksgiving, and they have a series of surprises in store for their 7th-anniversary celebration.
