Norsemen top Tigers, Raiders in girls’ golf
The Northfield Norsemen were victorious on the back nine Timber Ridge Golf Course Tuesday over Bluffton and Southern Wells.
The team won by a score of 203, while the Tigers finished second with a 215 and the Raiders third with a 229.
Leading scorer for the Tigers was Emma Schwartz with a 42, just one stroke behind Northfield’s Addi Sorg, who was the medalist for the match.
Following Schwartz for Bluffton was Eve Corkwell with a 51, Piper Morgan (59), Addie Kauffman (63), and Sy’Annah Jordan-Turner (64). Aleeah Grover had a 68.
Southern Wells’s top golfer was Kolbie Beavans with a 56, followed by Sophie Meeks (55), Caroline Ripperger (58), Erica Beavans (60), and Collena Reeves (68).
Bluffton will host Mississinewa at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Southern Wells will host Adams Central at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Knights sweep in boys’ tennis over Starfires
The Norwell boys’ tennis team defeated South Adams in a home 5-0 sweep Tuesday.
The Knights’ record is now 4-0 on the season.

Knights fall in JV girls’ soccer against Spartans
The Norwell junior varsity soccer team fell 2-1 on the road against Homestead Tuesday.
The goal was scored by Aubrey Meyer. Abby Wagner was in net and had a shutout in the first half.
The JV squad’s next game will be at Leo for one half starting at 6 p.m., with varsity to follow.
Raiders fall to Golden Bears in volleyball
Southern Wells fell to Monroe Central at home in a 3-0 sweep Tuesday.
The Raiders lost the first set 25-18, the second 25-11, and the third 25-11.
Southern Wells will travel to Mississinewa at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24.
