Knights stump Archers in boys’ tennis match
The Norwell boys’ tennis team shut out South Side on the road Monday.
The Knights improved their record to 3-0.

• Bodie Zimmer won over Sergio at 6-0, 6-0 No. 2 singles.
• Gavin Reynolds defeated Brad 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
• Jaden Payne and Jake Hoover defeated Evan Harl and Julian Embry 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
• Eddit Archbold and Ayden Quintanilla defeated Abram and Noah Roff 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Junior varsity did not play.
Norwell will host South Adams starting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.
Tigers top Bruins in boys’ tennis
The Bluffton boys’ tennis team traveled for a win at Blackford for a 5-0 sweep Monday.
Results
• Anthony Hartman defeated Charlie Crabtree 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
• Nolan Lambert defeated Carson Miller 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
• Kade Abbett defeated Lucas Penrod 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
• Ben Maggard and Dane Schlagenhauf defeated Trenton Norton and Tanner Roberts 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
• Coy Lantz and Jacob Ribich defeated Zaden Stone and Colt Dennington 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
The junior varsity team also won, the score being 2-0.

• Lance Moser defeated Franco Mendoza 4-1.
• Jed Logan defeated Franco Mendoza 4-0.
Bluffton will be at Bellmont starting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Bluffton falls in five sets against Mississinewa
The Bluffton volleyball team had a hard-fought effort in its 3-2 loss at Mississinewa.
The Tigers lost the first set 25-21, won the second 25-22, won the third 25-20, lost the fourth 25-22, and lost the fifth 15-12. The team record falls to 0-4.
Individual stat leaders for the night were Maryn Schreiber with 11 kills and two stuff blocks, Marly Drayer with 24 digs, Haley Gibson with 28 assists, and Isabella Stout with six aces.
The junior varsity team lost in two sets with scores of 25-8 and 25-9.
Stat leaders were Addison Gerhing with five digs, Ella Borror with one ace and two assists, Rori Drayer with one ace, and Sophie Eisenhut and Isla Gibson with one kill each.
Bluffton will host Blackford for junior varsity starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, with varsity to follow.
Knights fall to Braves in volleyball game
The Norwell volleyball team lost its first match of the year in three sets at Blackhawk Christian Monday night.
The Knights lost the first set 25-21, the second 26-24, and the third 25-13. The team record sits at 3-1.
Stat leaders for the night were Madeline McCabe with six kills, Jordyn Xayyachack with 14 digs, Vanessa Rosswurm with four blocks, Macie Saalfrank with eight assists, and Autumn Lee with three aces.
Norwell will be at Woodlan starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24.
Squires beat Knights in boys’ soccer
The Norwell boys’ soccer team made the trip to Manchester, losing the match 7-2.
The loss brings the Knights’ record to 1-3.
Noah Shamerloah and Lane Lewis scored one goal each.
Manchester also won the junior varsity match by a score of 4-1. Kale Fuess had the only goal.
Norwell will be at home to play its first NE8 Conference game of the year at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.
