Knights defeat Warriors in boys’ soccer for 1st win
The Norwell boys’ soccer team earned its first win on the road against Woodlan 4-0 Saturday.
The team record is now 1-2, and this was new head coach Kiel Nunn’s first career win as a Knight.
Kyler Morris led the team with three goals, while Lane Lewis scored the other and tallied an assist.
Noah Schamerloah and Philip Gaier added an assist each.
Noah Fromm earned the shutout with seven saves.
Norwell will be at Manchester starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21.
Knights finish 4th at DeKalb boys’ tennis Invite
The Norwell boys’ tennis team made the trip to DeKalb for an individual invitational Saturday.
The Knights, based on player finishes, came in fourth of the eight teams in attendance.
Bodie Zimmer at No. 2 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Eddie Archbold and Aedyn Quintanilla were the top placers on the team, both in second place. Grant Mishler came in third at No. 1 singles, Jake Hoover and Jaden Payne fifth at No. 1 doubles, and Gavin Reynolds 7th/eighth place at No. 3 singles.

Tiger boys place 5th, girls 10th at Taylor XC Invite
The Bluffton boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed at the Taylor University Invitational Saturday morning.
The boys placed fifth out of 15 teams with a team score of 124, while the girls came in 10th of 15 with 251 points.

Tigers lose three at Argyl Invite in volleyball
The Bluffton volleyball team fell in all three of its matches at the Madison-Grant Invitational Saturday.
The Tigers fell 25-1 and 25-17 to Muncie Burris in Game 1.
Lost 25-16 and 25-11 to Adams Central in Game 2.
Lost 31-29 and 25-16 against Madison-Grant in Game 3.
Leading scorers for the varsity during the tournament were Haley Gibson with 31 assists and two aces, Maryn Schreiber with 13 kills and four stuff blocks, Marly Drayer with 38 digs, and Claire Craighead with two aces.
The junior varsity team also fell in its three matches.
The JV lost to Muncie Burris 25-10 and 25-11 in Game 1.
Lost 25-15 and 25-15 against Adams Central in Game 2.
Lost 25-6 and 25-19 in Game 3.
JV stat leaders were Isla Gibson with seven assists and three aces, Sophie Eisenhut with five kills and one stuff block, Rylynn Penick with one stuff block, and Rori Drayer with nine digs.
Bluffton will take the court next at Mississinewa, with the junior varsity starting at six and varsity to follow.
