The First Bank of Berne will work with with the Caylor-Nickel Foundation YMCA for the organization’s monthly Lunch & Learn series. The bank will present a program on the dangers of cybercrimes and will educate those 55 and older on avoiding senior fraud. 

The event’s speaker will be Pete Schmidt, the bank’s chief risk officer. Schmidt is a graduate of the FBI’s Chief Information Security Officer Academy, an elite training program for select industry professionals. He will discuss a range of cybercrime concerns, including new and evolving scams, safeguarding personal information, protecting digital devices, and general crime prevention.

The First Bank of Berne Lunch & Learn will take place at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the YMCA facility at 555 W. Dustman Road in Bluffton. This event is open to YMCA members who are 55 years of age and older.
