Tuesday, 2:53 p.m., east Ind. 124, caller requested television and other media be removed from property.
Tuesday, 6:28 p.m., corner of South Liberty and East South streets, caller reported verbal domestic altercation.
Tuesday, 7:35 p.m., near Autumn Court and Abbey Lane, stray dog reported. Owner of animal was located.
Tuesday, 10:23 p.m., Kroger, caller reported suspicious person on south end of parking lot. Man advised he is homeless and trying to sleep.
Wednesday, 12:15 a.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center, lost driver looking for Inteva, officer escorted driver there.
Wednesday, 2:45 a.m., corner of Oak and Miller streets, caller reported seeing a semi-truck hit stop sign. Stop sign down at Water and Oak streets, unable to locate vehicle.
Wednesday, 6:44 a.m., South Main Street, driver only able to move 5 mph. An officer followed behind driver to ensure safety until driver arrived at Goodyear.
Wednesday, 10:35 a.m., Bluffton High School, student found with vape by school staff.
Wednesday, 11:42 a.m., Pretzels, officer requested in office to retrieve found drugs.
Wednesday, 11:52 a.m., corner of West South and South Johnson streets, assistance requested with tenants who refused to leave after eviction.
County:
Tuesday, 1:04 p.m., Wells County Jail. Report of a former employee making threats and acting erratically. Complaintants were asked to file a written statement and send records of the threats.
Tuesday, 3:51 p.m., Northwest Ind. 116 and North 100W. Vehicle ran out of gas. Driver advised help is arriving soon.
Tuesday, 4:13 p.m., 2736 SE Mulberry St., Bluffton. Permanent trailer plate found at the intersection. License plate was registered in Michigan.
Tuesday, 4:59 p.m., 4884S 400W, Poneto. Caller reported a package had arrived but was empty. The package did not seem disturbed. A deputy advised the caller to contact the company she had ordered the item from.
Tuesday, 5:20 p.m., North 300W and West 700N. Two-vehicle accident. No injuries.
Tuesday, 9:24 p.m., West Market and South Main streets. Caller advised their partner was driving intoxicated. The vehicle arrived at the destination prior to locating it.
Tuesday, 11:14 p.m., residence on 300W, Liberty Center. Report of a domestic disturbance. Male reportedly busted the door in of his house and appears agitated and aggressive. He had been previously reported as driving drunk. Responding deputies reported the man smelled of alcohol and was uncooperative, and was put in handcuffs while deputies investigated. He claimed his wife had hit him over the head and asked for handcuffs to be removed. When this request was denied, the man dove to the ground head first, claiming he couldn’t breathe and then acting unconscious. Deputies called for medics. When the man was read his rights, he repeatedly kicked law enforcement and yelled expletives. He then denied medical attention. The other residents were advised how to file a restraining order, collected their belongings and left. When the man was released from handcuffs, he continually yelled expletives at law enforcement and told them to leave, following them to the roadway.
Ossian:
Wednesday, 12:50 a.m., residence on 900N. Domestic incident between a man and a woman. A juvenile called to report her guardians were intoxicated and involved in an altercation. The deputy observed several facial and neck injuries on the woman involved. She advised that the man had been aggressive, but that things were OK and he was now sleeping. The deputy then spoke with the man, who also smelled of alcohol. Roger Allen Buuck, 48, Ossian, was arrested for domestic battery of a person with a protection order that protects family or household members of the protected person, a Class A misdemeanor, strangulation resulting in the loss of consciousness or other effects, a Level 6 felony. Bond was set at $50,000.
Wednesday, 5:32 a.m., residence on Westview Drive. Report of a male attempting to break into a residence. Elvis Aaron Larkey, 43, Ossian was arrested for breaking and entering, a Level 6 felony, and public intoxication. Bond set at $6,000.
ACCIDENTS
City:
Tuesday, 1:49 p.m., West Lancaster and East Adam streets, failure to yield right of way. A maroon Nissan Maxima was turning left onto private drive at Inteva while a white Dodge Caravan turned from private drive at Inteva onto the roadway. No injuries reported, damages estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
County:
Sunday, April 23, 12:35 p.m., CR 800N just east of 600W, Markle. Juvenile was riding a 2017 Polaris Rzr off road when the vehicle rolled. The juvenile was ejected from the vehicle and received injuries to their leg, head and neck. The juvenile was transported to Lutheran Hospital, and the vehicle was towed by Freeman’s. The investigating Indiana Conservation Officer was advised that the juvenile had been speaking to a friend on the phone at the time of the accident, which the juvenile later confirmed. The ICO tested the vehicle’s brakes, which appeared to be working.
FIRES
Tuesday, 11:56 p.m., Praxis, fire alarm set off, building evacuated. No fire found, alarm was set off by vape.
Wednesday, 12:29 p.m., North 250 East and 224, vacant field fire reported. Property owner present and reported they will control fire and report back controlled burn information.
ARRESTS
Amiya Mitchell Smith, 18, Fort Wayne; minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $500.
Isaac Brian Charles Ingram, 23, Fort Wayne; probation violation, a Level 6 felony. No bond set.
Curtis A. Schorey, 51, Bluffton; dealing cocaine or a narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony, and dealing meth, a Level 2 felony. No bond set.
Nichole Marie Colwell, 35, Bluffton; domestic battery with a prior unrelated conviction, a Level 5 felony, invasion of PTR privacy, a Level 6 felony, and contempt of court. Bond set at $25,000.
