Elvin Stanton, 93, of Hartford City, died at 2:17 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Ossian Health & Rehab Center. He was born Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1930, in Russell Co., Ky.
He married Lela (Ramsey) Stanton on Saturday, Aug. 19, 1950, in Scottsburg, Ind.
Elvin his survived by his daughters, Teresa L. Eccles, Bluffton, Dorothy M. Johnson, Hartford City; son, Donald G. Stanton, Gas City; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela (Ramsey) Stanton; father, Shelly Stanton; mother, Lizzie (Burton) Stanton; sisters, Jewell Gentry, Beulah Evans, Mildred Luttrell, Alma Stanton, Leona Rexroat, and Lola Kelly; brothers Ruben Stanton, Thomas Stanton, Alvin Stanton, Hollan Stanton, Rollan Stanton, and Ores Stanton.
Services will be held at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN., Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
A service to celebrate Elvin’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Stanton officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.
Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
