A Geneva resident’s vehicle was found unattended in the Wabash River Wednesday.

Branden Beer, 19, was reported missing to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office earlier the same day but had not been seen since Sunday. Local law enforcement recovered his vehicle at approximately 1 p.m. near the White Bridge in Bluffton. No one was located near the vehicle.

A press release from Quinton Greer, a detective in the Wells County Sheriff’s Department, stated law enforcement searched along the Wabash River throughout Wednesday and Thursday. At the time of the release, no one has been found.

Searchers left the site Thursday afternoon after spending the better part of two days there.

Greer stated the investigation is ongoing, but current evidence indicates the incident as a single-vehicle accident.

The ACSD, Bluffton Police Department, Bluffton Fire Department, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Decatur Fire Department and Piqua Towing assisted in the recovery effort.
