INCIDENTS

City:

Wednesday, 5:12 p.m., Main Street at Washington Street. Bluffton police officer pulled over a vehicle and arrested the driver, Ivan Merced Gomez Osorio, 43, Fort Wayne, on one count of driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor. Released on his own recognizance.

Wednesday, 10:44 p.m., residence in the 1000 block of Ranch Road. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm tripped accidentally.

Thursday, 4:26 a.m., Kendall Electric, 227 W. Wabash St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Thursday, 8:42 a.m., Adams Street at Lancaster Street. Report of a car in the ditch. Caller could not advise if anyone was trapped or injured. Bluffton Fire Rescue and Wells County EMS dispatched. No one was trapped or injured and both were advised to disregard. It was just a car in the ditch with no damage. 

Thursday, 9:04 a.m., Ind. 124 east of Main Street. Caller reported a rollerblader eastbound in the westbound lane was difficult to see because of the fog. 

Thursday, 12:04 p.m., Main Street near Capri Court. Semi parked in the center turn lane. Driver located at Wendy’s restaurant nearby and advised he could not park in the center turn lane.

Thursday, 1:41 p.m., Western Avenue at Wiley Avenue. Someone pushed a bicycle in front of an ambulance.

Wednesday, 9:11 p.m., 100W north of Ind. 218 flooded. County highway department contacted to post signs.

ACCIDENTS

City:

Tuesday, 7:23 p.m., 300W at U.S. 224. Maw S. Aung, 45, Indianapolis, was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima north on 300W when he stopped for U.S. 224. He then drove into the path of a westbound 2007 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Corey M. Parteko, 41, Arcola, sending it across the intersection where it struck a stopped southbound 2011 Dodge Journey driven by Troy M. Sheets, 50, Bluffton. Damage exceeded $10,000.

Ossian:

Wednesday, 3:32 p.m., Jefferson Street at Mill Street. Damon B. Dudley, 30, Fort Wayne, was northbound on Jefferson Street in a 2018 RAM 1500 pickup truck. He dropped his cellphone, reached down to pick it up and rammed the back of a stopped 2017 Nissan Sentra driven by Richard D. Cooley, 58, Silo Farms. Cooley had stopped waiting for oncoming traffic to clear so he could make a left turn onto Mill. After the impact, Cooley’s car continued in a northwesterly direction and climbed the curb next to the Ossian Branch of the Wells County Public Library. The pickup truck spun around about 170 degrees and came to a stop facing toward Heyerly’s Bakery. Damage exceeded $10,000.

FIRE RUNS

Thursday, 5:10 p.m., 511 Creek Drive, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Fire alarm sounding inside the mobile home. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Firefighters gained entry into the mobile home and found the alarm sounding but no sign of fire or smoke. 

ARRESTS

Michael Danielle Lee Coleman, 26, Hartford City; unauthorized absence from home detention. No bond set.
