Friday, 4:44 a.m., Ind. 124 between 400W and 500W. A 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck was eastbound on Ind. 124 when the driver told an investigating sheriff’s deputy that she swerved to “avoid a bunny” drove off the road and down a steep embankment into the Rock Creek. The pickup truck sustained significant damage, including a broken rear axle, however both the driver and the passenger in the vehicle were uninjured. There was no further details available on the crash.

Friday, 7:45 a.m., I-69 near the 291 mile marker. Joshua McElwain, 24, address not listed, was driving north on I-69, hydroplaned off the road and down into a ditch but was not damaged.

FIRE RUNS

Thursday, 10:05 p.m., Beth Avenue at Cherry Street. Caller reported being able to hear a fire alarm at a vacant residence. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. No fire. Alarm was an old alarm.

Friday, 12:02 a.m., 6895W-625S, a house owned by Steven and Sharon Couch of rural Warren. Warren, Chester, Montpelier and Liberty Township fire departments dispatched on a report of a house fire. Liberty and Montpelier later advised to disregard. Fire did extensive damage to the east side of the house. 

Friday, 12:28 a.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center south campus, 1100 S. Main St. (former Wells Community Hospital). Fire alarm coming from the north side of the building in the mechanical bay. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Broken water line triggered the alarm.
