Markle Medical Centers in Markle and Warren have a new doctor.

Rachel Huffman, M.D. is a board-certified family medicine physician providing patient-centered care for men, women and children of all ages at 201 E. South St. in Markle and 824 Huntington Ave. in Warren. 

A press release from  Lutheran Health Physicians noted that Huffman’s services range from routine physicals and medical treatment to care for sudden illness and chronic disease management. 

“She also has an interest in helping people reach and maintain a healthy weight and is currently working toward a special board certification in obesity medicine,” the release stated.

 “I enjoy connecting with patients and getting their perspective on how their health impacts their lives,” Huffman said. “I am looking forward to taking care of people from my community.”

Huffman, formerly Rachel Habegger, grew up on a chicken farm west of Bluffton, where both of her parents still reside and farm. She graduated from Southern Wells Jr./Sr. High School and Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne for undergraduate studies and is an Indiana University School of Medicine, Fort Wayne graduate. She completed her residency through the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program. 

Huffman lives in Fort Wayne with her husband Jake, her two children and two stepchildren. In their free time, the family enjoys hiking and doing crafts together.
