The IHSAA has announced the pairings for the football sectionals for the three Wells County schools. All first-round games will be played at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct 21.
The Norwell Knights (8-0), who will be competing in the Class 3A tournament, were picked to travel to Heritage (5-3) in Monroeville. The Patriots are currently second in the Allen County Athletic Conference standings behind No. 2 in Class 1A Adams Central. The rest of the sectional matchups will feature Concordia Lutheran at Woodlan, Yorktown at Delta, and Bellmont at Garrett.
The Bluffton Tigers (4-4) will be in the Class 2A bracket and were selected to travel to Hartford City to face the Blackford Bruins (1-7). Blackford resides in the Central Indiana Conference and currently sits in seventh place. The rest of the field includes Eastbrook at Frankton, Elwood at Alexandria Monroe, and Tipton at Eastern.
The Southern Wells Raiders (0-8) will compete in the Class 1A tournament and will be the only school in the county hosting in round one. The Raiders picked up the Northfield Norsemen (4-4), who are currently fifth in the Three Rivers Conference. The rest of the field includes Fremont at South Adams, Adams Central at Southwood, and North Miami at Madison Grant.
