The Wells County Senior Expo is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 6, in the 4-H Community Building, 1240 4-H Road on Bluffton’s south side.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A free breakfast will be provided from 9 to 10 a.m. by Heritage Pointe Communities/Morrison Living and a free lunch will be provided by River Terrace Retirement Communities from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.
At 1:30 p.m., a free giveaway of food will take place. Susie Ehlerding, associate director of the Wells County Council on Aging, says the food has been provided by the Peyton’s Northern Kroger distribution center and an anonymous donor. Individuals must be present to receive food.
Several vendors will be on hand with information for senior citizens.
Other highlights of the day include:
• Transportation will be provided by Wells on Wheels for Wells County residents only. Those needing transportation should call 824-4969 to make an appointment.
• Blood pressure checks, done all day.
• Individuals can have lipid panel blood work done between 9 a.m. 11 a.m. The test will require a 10-hour fast; any prescribed medication should be taken with water prior to the test.
• The booth operated by the Wells County Sheriff’s Department will accept unwanted medications.
• Reduced cost pet vaccinations, which will be done at the Bluffton Animal Clinic, 1890 N. Main St., on a walk-in basis from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday.
The annual event is sponsored by the Wells County Council on Aging.
