INCIDENTS
City:
Tuesday, 10:01 p.m., residence in the 100 block of North Main Street. Caller reported being able to hear someone yelling from inside a vehicle’s trunk. Officers responded. Turned out to be a blue tooth speaker in the trunk, not a person.
Tuesday, 10:20 p.m., Beth Avenue at Wiley Avenue. Caller reported hearing six to eight gunshots in the area. Officer responded and could hear the noise as well but observed that the noise seemed to be coming from a machine at a nearby factory.
Tuesday, 10:36 p.m., Phil’s One Stop, 1303 S. Main St. Clerk reported that a female customer was behaving belligerently. Officer responded, spoke to both people and noted that each thought the other was being rude.
Wednesday, 6:45 a.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center, 303 S. Main St. Employee reported there was a man at the hospital wishing to turn himself into authorities. He was on parole and would not be able to make his court date and his parole officer reportedly told him to turn himself in. He was briefly detained and then released.

Wednesday, 1:18 a.m., Ind. 116 at 450E. Deputy removed remnants of a deer that had been hit by a hit-and-run vehicle from the roadway.
Wednesday, 8:11 a.m., 200W south of Ind. 218. Caller reported that along Ind. 218 about three quarters of a mile south of Ind. 218 a man was standing near the road holding a white bag and a black bag and told the caller that he had slept there all night. Deputies responded and spoke with Aaron Michael Whitehead, 31, listed as homeless. Reportedly Whitehead had methamphetamine and pipe with which to smoke it in his possession. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor. No bond set.

Tuesday, 6:57 p.m., 625 N. Main St. Amie J. Rodgers, 84, Bluffton, was driving a 2002 Buick Rendezvous in the driveway of the residence when she meant to hit the brakes of the vehicle but hit the accelerator instead. The vehicle shot forward with the right side riding up onto the porch. That caused the Rendezvous to roll. Wells County EMS and Bluffton Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene. Rodgers was trapped inside the sport utility vehicle and had to be freed by rescuers from the Bluffton Fire Department. She also complained of pain all over and was taken by Wells County EMS to Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Damage to the vehicle exceeded $10,000.
