The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors recognized Capri Meadows Apartments as the August Member of the Month. Capri Meadows Apartments was built in 1975.
Capri Meadows is an affordable apartment community in Bluffton apartments and townhomes for rent, as well as one bedroom apartment homes for people 55+ years of age or disabled.
Capri Meadows Apartments is a federally subsidized apartment community where rent and eligibility are determined by government regulations.
Rebecca Newman, property manager of Capri Meadows Apartments, explained that there are 172 apartments at Capri Meadows with 100 percent occupancy. “There is a need in our community for low-income housing and we are proud we can meet that need; however, our community could use more.”
“We have residents that are elderly and disabled with a goal is to keep them in their apartments for as long as they are able,” stated Newman. “We offer a variety of programs to educate them how to live independently.”
Newman explained that she is very appreciative of the community partners helping the residents in a variety of ways such as United Way of Wells County, Pastor Neil Ainslie, and the multitude of churches. “The churches have brought in food from the pantries and involved us in the summer food program, which is extremely helpful for our residents.”
“I especially want to express how grateful I am for this community with the love and support everyone has provided through the traumatic fire,” said Newman. “The Red Cross, churches, and people were amazing. We would have been lost without the support and we are all so grateful. It was a devastating day, and we appreciate how quickly the Red Cross came in and helped to the fullest. Our home office was very surprised by the outpour of support from our community. Thank you to everyone.”
