Ossian Rotary will welcome Kody Kumfer, president of Ossian Revitalization, to its regular meeting Thursday. Kody spent his childhood in the Northern Wells Community.

Kody Kumfer

He is a 2008 graduate of Norwell High School, then completed his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Trine University.

While attending school in the evenings he worked at MarkleBank full time for five years until he transitioned to First Bank of Berne as a business/ag banker working directly with business owners and farmers.

He has been serving as the president of Ossian Revitalization since 2013 and helped with various projects across the Ossian community.

He is also an active Wells County Chamber Ambassador, active in Wells County Economic Development, member of the Norwell FFA Advisory board, and a member of the Wells County Revitalization board.

After 11 years in the banking world, he decided to follow his heart and transition to the orphan care ministry Forgotten Children Worldwide in March 2021.  He is serving the ministry as the Associate Executive Director

“Kumfer is striving to be part of the solution for the vulnerable kids around the world, to protect them from extreme poverty and trafficking, empower them with an education and trade or advanced degree, and make sure they know their Heavenly Father loves them and that they were made for a purpose,” Ossian Rotary President Jeff Keplar said.

Ossian Rotary meets at 7:30 a.m. Thursday mornings at 7:30 at the First Baptist Church of Ossian at 1001 Dehner Drive in Ossian. Anyone is welcome to attend.
