Ossian police panel will meet Sunday afternoon

The Ossian Police Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Collier’s, 215 N. Jefferson St. in Ossian.

The only item on the agenda is a discussion of minimum qualifications for the chief’s position.

The board will meet in executive session at 3:30 p.m. Sunday to discuss the job performance of individual employes.

Friends of the Shelter will meet Monday afternoon

Friends of the Shelter, the organization that provides support for the Bluffton/Wells County Animal Shelter, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.

Topics on the agenda include shelter numbers, financial reports, and upcoming events.

Regional Sewer District board will meet Monday

The board of the Wells County Regional Sewer District will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.

• Superintendent’s report and board update.

• Engineer’s reports — a project status update for  Phase 1 and a status and schedule update for Phase  2.

Ossian Town Council will meet Monday evening

The Ossian Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, at Collier’s, 215 N. Jefferson St. in Ossian.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Reports from the Fire Department, Parks Board, and Police Commission.

• Community Master Plan for Wells County, presented by Chad Kline, the county’s economic development director.

• Tax abatement compliance forms presented by H&N Properties, Perma-Column, Pena’s, Trusted, and Rethceif.

• Consideration of pay applications from API.

• Discussion of  ordinance about keeping and harboring animals.

• Agreement for approvals in the right  of  way.

• Consideration of a fireworks permit.

At 6:45 p.m., prior to the start of the regular meeting, the Ossian Redevelopment Commission will meet. Among the topics will be the discussion of a proposal to create a downtown tax increment financing district, which will be brought to the commission by Kline.

Bluffton Board of Works to meet Tuesday afternoon

The Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, in the meeting room on the first floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Request for a water bill reduction from  Flat Creek LLC.

• Request for utilities at the new Wells County Highway Garage.

• A request for handicap parking, brought to the board by Laurie White.

• A personnel matter, brought to the board by Kyle Randall.

Northern Wells school board will meet Tuesday

The board of the Northern Wells Community Schools will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the school district’s central office, 312 N. Jefferson St. in Ossian.
