The Norwell Knights were shut out 4-0 in Friday’s home baseball game against the Carroll Chargers.
All four of Carroll’s runs came in the third inning, aided by a home run from Alex Smith.
Norwell (8-6) had opportunities to score, but left eight men on base.
The Knights finished the game with four hits. Cale Mallery went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, and Graham Gaier and Brody Bolyn each added a single.
Lane Lewis took the loss on the mound. Norwell’s starting pitcher allowed four runs on four hits in three innings of work while striking out two and walking one.
Gaier came in relief for one hitless inning with a strike out and walk.
Bolyn also pitched and allowed one hit in the remaining three innings and struck out three.
The Knights will head to Delta for their next game on Monday.
