Ossian:
Wednesday, 4:49 p.m., Ossian police officer received a driving complaint on a 2007 Dodge pickup truck southbound on Ind. 1 from I-469. The officer did a license plate check based on information provided by the complaining party and discovered that the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license. The officer pulled the truck over at Silo Farms and issued a summons into Wells Superior Court to Alfredo Mendez, who lives in the mobile home park, for driving while suspended and no proof of insurance, both Class A infractions.
Then, at 7:05 p.m., the same officer reported seeing the same truck southbound on Jefferson Street at Industrial Parkway. The officer followed the truck and pulled it over on 900N west of 150E. This time, however, the truck was being driven by a 16-year-old boy who told the officer he was unaware that the truck was not insured. The truck was then impounded and the boy’s mother came and picked him up.
