Gladys I. Flowers, 88, of Berne, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Swiss Village in Berne.
She was born Jan. 17, 1934, in Adams County, to Harry Strahm and Ida Bauman Strahm. Gladys was united in marriage to Donald K. Flowers on Sept. 23, 1950, in Adams County. After 70 years of marriage, Don preceded her in death July 18, 2021.
She was a co-owner of Flowers Upholstery in Berne and would help Don deliver furniture. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed her flower gardens.
Gladys and her husband, Donald, were frequent visitors to several area restaurants, including the West End and Richards Restaurant in Decatur. They enjoyed eating out!
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Karen Flowers and Mary (Skip) Ross, both of Bluffton; a brother-in-law, Jim Flowers of Bluffton; and several nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager–Kirchhofer Chapel, with Pastor Mike Wertenberger officiating. Burial will follow at the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana.
Preferred memorials can be made to the Swiss Village Samaritan Fund or the donor’s choice.
