Wednesday, 2:49 p.m., apartment in the 300 block of West Central Avenue. Theft reported.
Wednesday, 4:04 p.m., Lancaster Estates mobile home park. Report of an aggressive dog possibly chasing children at a school bus stop.
Wednesday, 4:35 p.m., Wells County Lockup, 1247 S. Main St. Abandoned vehicle. Police were able to contact the owner and left a voice mail that he has to move the vehicle.
Wednesday, 9:52 p.m., Pak-A-Sak convenience store, 204 W. Wabash St. Caller reported he tried to check into the Praxis substance abuse rehabilitation facility when he saw someone he believed was following him. Officer responded. Wife took man to another facility.
Thursday, 6:39 a.m., 600 block of North Main Street. Caller reported a bag of trash was in the roadway. Officer responded and discovered that it wasn’t trash but a dead dog. The officer dragged the dog off the road.
Thursday, 8:47 a.m., residence in the 500 block of West Washington Street. Caller reported someone had attempted unsuccessfully to break into the caller’s residence.
Thursday, 11:09 a.m., Main Motel, 1005 S. Main St. Report that a man was at the motel who had previously been warned not to return or he would be arrested for trespassing. Yull Thomas Bailey Jr., 41, Bluffton, was charged with criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond was set at $1,500.

Wednesday, 2:39 p.m., Wells County Sheriff’s Department received a report from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department that a woman had been involved in a road rage incident with a man on I-469. The man reportedly threw something at the woman’s car and then fired a gun at her. The man was driving a lifted white pickup truck and was last seen driving south on Ind. 1 from I-469. Sheriff deputy checked from 1200N south, but the pickup truck was not located.
Wednesday, 10:54 p.m., Washington Street at Matthews Street in Murray. Bluffton police officer pulled over a vehicle and arrested Rhianna Stephen Lothamer, 25, Bluffton, on one count of unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe, a Level 6 felony, and one count of theft, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $6,500.
Thursday, 7:40 a.m., Hoosier Highway at 200S. Southern Wells School Resource Officer Chad Bradley stayed with a student whose car had died on the road until she could get help from her father.
Ossian:
Thursday, 8:53 a.m., Farmers and Merchants State Bank, 102 N. Jefferson St. Intrusion alarm. Ossian police officer responded. Alarm accidentally tripped.
Thursday, noon, residence in the 800 block of Zuercher Lane. Officer requested to assist in the removal of an unwanted man from the residence.
ACCIDENTS

Wednesday, 7:10 a.m., Ind. 1 at U.S. 224. Dana Rambo, 24, rural Decatur, told an Ossian police officer she was distracted by a child in the backseat and did not notice traffic ahead of her was stopped at the traffic light until it was too late. Her 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer struck the back of a 2009 Pontiac Vibe driven by Leslie Lindsey, 33, Bluffton. Damage estimated at less than $1,000.
Wednesday, 9:09 p.m., 100S near Meridian Road. Rebecca L. Adams, 25, Ossian, hit a deer with her 2016 Dodge Challenger. Damage to the car exceeded $2,500.
Thursday, 12:45 a.m., 1100N west of 500W. Karen J. Shatzer, 60, rural Roanoke, hit a deer with her 2018 Toyota Rav4. Damage to the sport utility vehicle exceeded $2,500.
FIRES
Wednesday, 11:23 p.m., Norwell school complex, 1254E-U.S. 224. Caller reported that the new office maintenance building at the school was on fire. Bluffton, Ossian and Uniondale fire departments dispatched. The fire was not in the complex but was an intentional brush pile fire that had apparently rekindled. It was allowed to burn itself out as it posed no threat to any nearby structures.
Wednesday, 12:01 p.m., Markle Health and Rehabilitation, 170 N. Tracy St., Markle. Fire alarm. Markle Fire Department responded. Alarm triggered by a problem with the building’s sprinkler system.
ARRESTS
Elizabeth Marcille Hernandez, 28, Huntertown; battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,500.
Tanner Matthew Henderson, 29, Fort Wayne; two counts of battery against a public safety official, both Level 5 felonies. Bond set at $20,000.
