Criminal Cases
Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Dayon Charles Allen Hall, charged with six counts of child molesting, all level 1 felonies, and two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, both Level 4 felonies.
Bond continued at $250,000. Jeffrey Stineburg appointed public defender.
Hall is charged with engaging in sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 15 on multiple occasions in 2020 and early 2021.

Trention Lynn Ecklebarger, 27, rural Bluffton, violated probation by failing to call the probation drug test hotline Feb. 4 and testing positive for alcohol on Jan. 24 and using methamphetamine Feb. 5.
Ordered to serve four days in the Wells County Jail — credited as time served.
Ecklebarger was originally sentenced Jan. 5 on one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony.

Preliminary plea of not guilty entered for Dakota T. Vibbert,19, Bluffton, charged with criminal confinement with bodily injury, a Level 5 felony; domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor; interference with the reporting of a crime, a Class A misdemeanor; and minor consuming alcohol, a Class C misdemeanor.
Bond continued at $13,500. Larry Mock appointed public defender.
Bluffton police responded to the Budget Inn Feb. 14 on a report of a physical altercation between Vibbert and an older female relative in the room that they shared at the motel. Vibbert is alleged to have struck the woman at least 10 times in the head, prevented her from leaving the motel room, took her cell phone to prevent her from calling for help, and drank two shots of the woman’s alcohol (which was what apparently precipitated the fight).
