Norwell’s eighth-grade boys had the closest matchup, but still escaped with a 27-26 win.

After trailing 13-11 at halftime, Elijah Jacob hit a three to kick off the second half and give Norwell some momentum.

Noah Scherloh hit a three with one minute to go in the game to put Norwell up 3, but Riverview answered with a three of its own to tie it back up.

Caiden Petrie made one of two free throws to put Norwell up 1.

Norwell rebounded Riverview’s next miss and ran all but 11 seconds off the clock before getting a layup opportunity that did not go in. However, after a series of inbounds plays and fouls, Norwell made one more defensive stop to seal the win.

Petrie led Norwell with 9 points. Jacob followed with 6, and Brady Smith added 5 points and five rebounds.

Norwell’s seventh-grade boys beat Riverview 39-28 to extend its winning streak to seven games.
