Pamela J. Havlin, 85, of Angola, passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at Lakeland Rehab & Healthcare Center in Angola.

Pam was born on June 30, 1941, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Marjorie A. Havlin. She was a graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne and had also attended Bowling Green State University.

Pam dedicated 40 years of her professional life to caring for others as a medical technologist at Caylor-Nickel Clinic in Bluffton, retiring in 2006. Her commitment to helping others extended well beyond her career and was a reflection of the kindness, compassion, and generosity that she carried throughout her life.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Pam was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church. Her faith was at the very heart of who she was, providing her with strength, comfort, and a guiding light throughout her life. She was a member of the Daughters of the King and an active member of Holy Family Episcopal Church in Angola, where she faithfully served in many aspects of church life. Pam treasured her church family and the many dear friendships she formed through her years of worship and service. Her love for her church and her Lord was evident in the way she lived her life and cared for those around her.

Pam’s compassion for others was also evident in her work with the Faith Community Health Clinic in Angola, which she helped found in 2008. She devoted her time and talents to running the clinic’s laboratory, helping ensure that individuals in her community received the care and services they needed. She was a member of the American Society of Clinical Technologists, served as past state president of the Indiana State Medical Technologists, and was a past board member of Faith Community Health Clinic. Pam took great pride in her profession and in the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Outside of her professional and church activities, Pam enjoyed traveling and especially cherished her many trips throughout Europe. She loved experiencing new places, enjoying the beauty of the world, and making memories along the way.

One of Pam’s greatest joys in life, however, was her beloved basset hounds. She had a special place in her heart for these lovable companions and devoted much of her time and affection to rescuing and caring for them. Her home and heart were always open to dogs in need, and the love she gave her basset hounds was just another beautiful reflection of her gentle and compassionate spirit. They brought her tremendous happiness, companionship, and unconditional love throughout her life.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Nancy Havlin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; good friends, Melba and Bob Schiffli of Angola; her nephew, M. Jason Havlin, and his wife, Nicole, and their children, Lauren and Matthew; and her niece, Lindsey B. Reid, and her husband, Justin J., and their children, Avery, Macey, Tessa and Graham.; and many cousins with whom she greatly enjoyed spending time.

A memorial service for Pam will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, with visitation one hour prior, from 11 a.m. to noon, at Holy Family Episcopal Church, 909 Darling St. in Angola. Father Tom Adamson will be officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church memorial gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Episcopal Church or Guardian Angel Basset Rescue, 413 W. Waupahsie, St. Dwight, IL 60420.

Arrangements are in the care of Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services 502 N. Main Street, Auburn.
