Dwight Earl Brickley, 92, of Springboro, Ohio, and Bluffton passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, at Liberty Place Memory Care in West Chester, Ohio.

Earl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. He graduated from Springboro High School in 1953, having been selected to attend Buckeye Boys State in 1952. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Dayton in 1964.
A certified public accountant, he owned and operated Dwight E. Brickley, CPA for 56 years and continued preparing taxes well into his later years. Earl genuinely loved his work, particularly the opportunity to help his clients, many of whom became longtime friends. He was a former president of the Springboro Lions Club and a longtime member of the National Association of Tax Professionals. Earl was also a member of First Baptist Church in Bluffton, Indiana.
Friendly, caring and dedicated, Earl had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He seemed to know someone everywhere he traveled and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed bird watching, flower gardening, and following sports, particularly University of Dayton basketball, Cincinnati Reds baseball, Indiana University football and Indiana Pacers basketball.
Family was an important part of Earl’s life. For much of his married life, he maintained a unique weekly routine, typically spending four days in Indiana with his wife before returning to Ohio for several days to work with his tax clients.
Earlier in life, he enjoyed traveling with his children, with family trips taking them to New Jersey, Nashville, Gatlinburg, San Diego, Florida, Lake Cumberland and summertime visits to Mackinac Island. As a grandfather, Earl especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren to Skyline Chili and Bill’s Donuts, creating special memories through these simple outings together.
Among many things, Earl will be remembered for his friendly nature, his dedication to his family and his work, and his willingness to help others.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight E. and Ruby Brickley; an infant son and infant daughter; three brothers, Richard (Norma) Brickley, Robert (Priscilla) Brickley and Jerry Brickley; and three sisters, Wilda (Francis) Holmes, Meleta (Bill) Eschbaugh and Phyllis (Herman) Fiechter.
