Donald D. Hesher, 76, of Hartford City, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at his residence.

Don was born on July 4, 1950, in Portland, Ind. to Robert and Elizabeth (Franklin) Hesher.  He graduated from Pennville High School.  

Don had a passion for being outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish and taught his children to fish.  Don was not shy and would talk to everybody.  He never knew a stranger.  Singing karaoke was one of his favorite things to do.  He will forever be known as a master of tinkering around.

Don is survived by his children: Josh D. Costello of Poneto, Erica (Jeffrey) Love of Petroleum, Samantha (Michael) Smith of Bluffton and Amanda Stuller of Warren, along with 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters, Anita Isch of Dunkirk and Jane (Mike) Huffman of Montpelier, and a brother, Tom (Anisa) Hesher of Montpelier.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Harold Hesher, and a sister, Carol G. Sturgeon.

No formal service will be held at this time.
