To INCREASE the PERIODIC MAINTENANCE FUND for JACOB JOHNSON DRAIN
UNIT #16-33-691
TO: Residents in the Jacob Johnson Drain Unit Watershed in Lafayette & Pleasant Townships in Allen County, and Jefferson & Union Townships in Wells County.
The Allen County & Wells County Joint Drainage Board held a Public Hearing on April 16, 2026, at 9:00 am, in Room 035 Garden Level of Citizens Square, 200 East Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
Upon completion of testimony, the resolution was decided to increase the County Regulated Drain Maintenance Fund of Jacob Johnson Drain Unit #16-33-691 in Lafayette & Pleasant TWPs in Allen County, and Union & Jefferson TWPs in Wells County Indiana, from $1/Acre with $5 minimums per year, to $5/Acre with $25 minimums for agricultural, vacant, residential, and exempt parcels; $25/Acre with $125 minimums for industrial, commercial, and utility, and R/R parcels. This will generate an annual collection of $17,971.59 for the removal of sediment and debris, vegetation control, and minor bank repairs. Annual assessments will be collected until the Periodic Maintenance Fund reaches $143,772.72 equivalent to an 8-year high, as permitted by I.C. 36-9-27-43.
Property owners affected by a final order or determination made by the Allen County Drainage Board are entitled to judicial review. A written objection must be filed with the Circuit or Superior Courts of Allen County within 20 days. Failure to file an objection constitutes a waiver of your rights to thereafter, request a judicial review in accordance with IC 36-9-27-106 as amended.
