Linda Lou McLain, age 84, of Montpelier, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026.
She was born on Saturday, Sep. 13, 1941, in Montpelier.
She will be forever missed by her sons, Dale Purvis of Montpelier and Jeff (Debra) Purvis of Spencer, Wisconsin; daughter, Terri (Rick) Clifford of Bluffton; brother, Edward Coleman, Jr. of Gas City; sister, Iris Coleman of Florida; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sarah Viola (Evers) Coleman; first husband, Duane Purvis; second husband, Gordon McLain; and siblings, Doris Schache, Evelyn Kinser, Lola Moorman, Albert Coleman, Gene Coleman, Meredith Coleman and Priscilla Sills.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026 at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W Windsor St Montpelier.
A service to celebrate Linda’s life will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Steve Rogers officiating. Inurnment will take place in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Montpelier.
