Fred Joseph Osborn, 68, of Bluffton, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 31, 2026, at Laurels of DeKalb healthcare community in Butler, Indiana.

Fred was born in Bluffton on June 18, 1957, to Charles C. Osborn Jr. and Faye A. (Williams) Osborn. Both parents preceded him in death. 

Fred attended P.A. Allen High School in Bluffton. He worked at Stirling Casting, the City of Bluffton, and various other jobs in the area. His most rewarding job was being the shop manager at Imel Motors in Bluffton for over 20 years professionally painting and detailing trucks.

Fred enjoyed camping and fishing, and in the 1970s he started race car driving at Bear Field and Muncie Drag Strip. He also loved designing model cars and trucks and putting those designs together. 

Survivors include two sons, Joe C. Osborn of Antwerp, Ohio, and Terry Puckett of Bluffton; a sister, Charlotte K. Steffen of Bluffton; along with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Ann Osborn; a grandson, Daniel J. Osborn; and a brother-in-law, Steven “Steve” L. Steffen.

No public services are being held at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Goodwin – Harnish Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bluffton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
