William “Bill” M.  Ramseyer, Sr., 77 of Ossian, passed away on Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2026, at Ossian Health & Rehab. Center.

Bill was born on Feb. 3, 1948, in Wells County, to Alfred F. and Ida Mae (Osborn) Ramseyer. Growing up, Bill learned about mechanics from his father and could tear any small engine apart to get it fixed.  He worked at Ouabache State Park in Bluffton for 16 years before moving down to Alabama, where he worked at a large Grain Elevator / Feed Mill for 10 years, before returning to Bluffton in 2015.

He was always ready to go fishing and loved old tractors and trains.  He enjoyed attending the Wheels of Yesteryear steam tractor show at the 4-H park for many years. He always loved animals and always had a dog or cat with him.

Survivors include his daughter, Ellyn Rose (Joey) Macy of Churubusco, and a son, William “Will” M. Ramseyer, Jr. of Bluffton, along with two grandchildren, Jasmine Ramseyer and Isaia Ramseyer. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn (Norman) Thompson of Ossian and Joyce (F.P.) Koroma of Bluffton and nine nieces and six nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard, Roy and Ronald “Ron” Ramseyer and a sister, Kathy Poore and three nieces.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.  Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Stahl Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Preble Volunteer Fire Department for the tractor pull or to Heartland Hospice and can be sent to the funeral home.
