Vivian Lynn Bennett, 76, of Montpelier, died Jan. 1, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1949, in Fort Lee, Virginia. She married Robert “Bob” Leon Bennett on June 1, 1974 in Nas Barbers Point, Hawaii.
Vivian will be forever missed by her husband, Robert “Bob” Leon Bennett of Montpelier; children, Alicia (Matt) Hollars of Marion and Cheryl (Jason) Carnes of Hartford City; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Ann (John) Virgo of Fountain Valley, California.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. Harry Leslie Durfey; mother, Vivian Laverine (Dickason) Durfey; and grandchild, Kerigan Vivian Carnes.
Family and friends may gather from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St. in Montpelier. A service will follow at 4p.m. with Pastor Ryan Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion.
