Richard L. McCoy, 79 of Ossian, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28 ,2025.
Richard loved God, family and friends. He was a people person and loved by many. He was married to Carolyn McCoy for 53 years.
He retired from B. F. Goodrich in Woodburn, Indiana, then worked as a locator for Sprint Telephone company. For 20 years he served his community as the trustee of Jefferson Township, Wells County.
He was a square dance caller in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Texas. Richard loved square dancing and later on square dance calling. He loved creating stained glass artwork and going to Jellystone campground, where he could always be found fishing in his boat on Ridinger Lake. He loved to deejay car shows, weddings and other events. He and his wife spent the winters in Harligen, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald McCoy and Juanita June McCoy (Beaver). He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Federspiel; and grandkids, Andrew (Riley) Federspiel and Ashton Federspiel. He has one sister and three brothers.
Visitation at Grace Gathering Church, 3157 Minnich Rd. in New Haven from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 6, 2026 and at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m.
