
Susan J. Zuercher, 82, of Bluffton, passed away on Friday morning, Dec. 26, 2025, at River Terrace in Bluffton.
She was born June 19, 1943, in Long Beach, California to Hugh and Marlene (Poquette) Brown.
Susan worked at Micro Precision in Berne for over 25 years. She enjoyed making crafts, ornaments and wall hangings. She always had a word search close by and was in the process of putting another puzzle together.
In 1972, Susan married Bobby Joe Lugar, and he preceded her in death in 1976. She then married Gary Zuercher from 1984 to 2001.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela M. (Tait) Byrd of Bluffton; and bonus children, Jenny and Todd. She was a loving grandma to Kaitlyn Byrd and Jesslyn Byrd and bonus grandchildren. Susan is also survived by a special bonus sister, Loretta “Peggy” Byrd of Bluffton.
She is preceded in death by two sisters, Judith Hai and Linda Lugar.
Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva, with her husband, at a later date.
Memorials may be made in Susan’s memory to Riley Children’s Hospital and can be directed to the funeral home.
