Rebecca Ann “Becky” (Combs) Cain, 84, of Montpelier, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1940, in Wells County to William Layton and Faith Maxine (Mendenhall) Combs.
On Feb. 1, 1959, she married Jack Cain, and together they shared a beautiful life until his passing on June 29, 2020.
She is survived by her children, Brian Edward (Brenda) Cain, Lori Ann (Brett) Townsend and Beth Elaine (Chuck) Watkins, all of Hartford City; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Cain; her parents, William Layton Combs and Faith Maxine (Mendenhall) Combs; grandparents, Harry and Lottie (Eppert) Mendenhall and William Lawson and Amanda Jane (Johnson) Combs; and her aunt, Hope (Mendenhall) Hurst.
Viewing will be held Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hartford City. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at noon with Father Kevin Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery.
