Wednesday, 9:17 p.m., 500 block of West South Street. Caller reported someone trying to get into a building through the window. Resident said he was locked out.
Wednesday, 10:48 p.m., 500 block of West South Street. Caller reported a man made threats of violence against another man. One of the named parties advised it was a false claim made by someone with ulterior motives.
Wednesday, 11:17 p.m., 800 block of Kimberly Drive. Report of an alcohol offense. Madison N. Stevens, 18, Bluffton, and Catalina M. Polanco-Amans, 18, Bluffton, were arrested underage possesion of an alcoholic beverage, Class C misdemeanors. Both were booked and released.
Thursday, 6:02 a.m., Market and Marion streets. Traffic offense. One man arrested.
Thursday, 10:40 a.m., 500 block of West South Street. Report of domestic altercation. Parties separated.
Thursday, 2:03 p.m., 100 block of North Oak Street. Report of harassment. Unknown male rode by on bike and started yelling profanities at man and his children.

Wednesday, 2:22 a.m., 1600 block of North Main Street, Bluffton. Vehicle observed swerving and stopped for possible intoxicated driving. Driver passed field sobriety tests and was given verbal warning.
Wednesday, 8:26 a.m., Wells County Highway Garage. Large buck apparently sick and walking toward people and vehicles. Animal put down by deputy.
Wednesday, 9:08 a.m., Wells County Jail. Inmate served two additional warrants.
ACCIDENTS
City:
Sunday, Nov. 17, 8:19 p.m., Wiley Avenue at Indiana Street. Cohen Rogness, 17, Bluffton, was driving a 2015 Toyota Camry southbound on Wiley Avenue and pulled into the intersection in front of a westbound 2011 Kia Soul driven by Fawn Duncan, 61, Ossian. The Kia struck the rear of the driver’s side of the Camry. The Kia Soul was towed from the scene. Damage exceeded $5,000.
Tuesday, Nov. 26, 7:26 a.m., Scott Street. Brandy L. Singleton, 42, Bluffton, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on S.R. 1 turning onto Scott Street and miscalculated the distance to the curb, colliding with the curb and damaging the front end, front tires and underside of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Damage exceeded $5,000.
Wednesday, 2:57 p.m., Walmart. Sa He Dar Be, 30, Fort Wayne, was turning a 2021 Toyota Avalon into a parking spot and sideswiped a parked 2014 Ford Explorer. Damage exceeded $5,000.
Thursday, 5:50 a.m., Jersey Street at Silver Street. Ethan R. Gendreau, 30, Bluffton, was at a family gathering for multiple hours and when attempting to drive his 2019 Nissan Sentra home, found there was an issue with the door. It was later determined the vehicle had been sideswiped by an unknown vehicle while parked in the 900 block of South Jersey Street. Damage exceeded $1,000.
Thursday, Cherry Street at Scott Street. Anita L. Moore, 40, Bluffton, was allowing her 15-year-old daughter to practice driving in the parking lot, when the vehicle headed out the exit of lot and struck an eastbound 2010 Ford Taurus driven by Dustin P. Gaskill, 27, Bluffton. The Taurus was towed from the scene. Damage exceeded $10,000.

Wednesday, 5:20 p.m., 4324 E at S.R. 124, Bluffton. Kaitlyn Roby, 34, Bluffton, was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on S.R. 124 and struck a deer. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Damage exceeded $2,500.
Thursday, 9:43 a.m., C.R. 450 E between 100 N and 200 N, Bluffton. Nicholas J. Vulgamott, 38, Cincinnati, was driving a 1997 Honda Accord southbound on C.R. 450 E and, at a high rate of speed, passed a vehicle and left the east side of the roadway. A witness stated Vulgamott then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on the west side of the roadway. Vulgamott was trapped in the vehicle for a short time but was able to free himself. He was transported to the hospital by EMS with back and face injuries. Vulgamott was also cited for driving without insurance. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Damage exceeded $5,000.
Thursday, 11 a.m., U.S. 224 near C.R. 250 E, Kingsland. Robert E. Powers, 50, Markle, was driving a 2017 Honda Ridgeline eastbound on U.S. 224 and a deer ran into the passenger side door of the vehicle. Damage exceeded $5,000.
Friday, 6:39 a.m., C.R. 100 E at S.R. 124, Bluffton. Robert Kelley III, 55, Bluffton, was driving a 2016 Buick Encore northbound on C.R. 100 E and struck a deer. Damage exceeded $2,500.
Ossian:
Wednesday, 3:23 p.m., C.R. 850 N at C.R. 150 E, Ossian. Shawn Marie Williams, 52, Fort Wayne, was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse westbound on C.R. 850 N and a witness said the vehicle was traveling near 100 mph, disregarded the intersection stop sign at C.R. 150 E, and left the west side of roadway. The vehicle was then airborne and struck the west side of the ditch and continued through the field for about 100 ft. before it lost power and came to a rest about 150 ft. off the roadway. Williams was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries and tested for alcohol. Williams was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, both Class A misdemeanors. Bond set at $1,500. The vehicle was towed. Damage exceeded $5,000.

Friday, 6:05 p.m., 911 S Johnson St., Bluffton. Structure fire. Ossian, Liberty Township and Bluffton fire departments responded. Fire under control at 6:17 p.m.
Friday, 8:25 p.m., Liberty Center Baptist Church. Report of smoke smell coming from basment. Smell was coming from light fixture.
Saturday, 5:11 p.m., 620 Beth Avenue, Bluffton. Smell of smoke coming from oven. Bluffton Fire Department investigated.
Saturday, 7:01 p.m., Christian Care Retirement. Report of smoke. Liberty Township, Ossian and Bluffton fire departments responded. Fire contained to furnice.

Darla Ann Ashby, 39, Homer, Michigan; driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor. Booked and released.
Seth Aaron Markley, 36, Bluffton; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond not set.
Dominique Daniel Kolby, 31, Bluffton; invasion of privacy and domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16, both Level 6 felonies, and false informing and possession of marijuana, both Class B misdemeanors. Bond set at $25,000.
Jeremy Allen Berry, 39, Liberty Center; sex offender registration violation, a Level 6 felony. Bond set at $5,000. Bonded.
Lane Braxton McClure, 18, Warren; resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, a Level 6 felony, and reckless driving, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond not set.
Shelby Rose Eilene Mangas, 28, Markle; obstruction of justice, a Level 5 felony, and assisting a criminal, a Class A misdemeanor.
