Knights advance in boys’ soccer, wins over Warriors
Norwell got a 4-0 win over Woodlan in the first round of the boys’ soccer sectionals at Concordia Tuesday night.
The Knights were led by Kyler Morris’ and Hudson Gerbers’ two goals and an assist each. Philip Gaier made eight saves and completed the shutout.
Norwell will be back in the sectional semifinals to face Heritage at Concordia at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Norwell drops NE8 match to East Noble in volleyball
Norwell fell 3-1 to East Noble at home Thursday night.
The Knights fell by scores of 20-25, 21-25, 25-18 and 28-30. Their record falls to 15-11 on the season and 2-4 in the Northeast 8 Conference.
Stat leaders: Vanessa Rosswurm 16 kills, Autumn Lee and Emma Vachon two aces, Vachon 28 assists, Mekynzi Beck two blocks and Lee 22 digs.
Norwell won the junior varsity match 2-1 (20-25, 25-15, 16-14) and fell in the freshman match 2-1 (25-13, 21-25, 7-15).
Norwell will be at The Castle for the regular season finale against Huntington North at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.
