There are a number of local upcoming opportunities for kids and families to celebrate Halloween, including the events below.
Friday, Oct. 25
• Scarecrow Festival: Costume parade begins in downtown Warren at 6 p.m., food trucks open at 5 p.m., and game and chili cookoff will take place from 6-8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 26
• Ossian Health Communities Trunk or Treat: Enjoy candy, donuts and cider from 2-4 p.m. at Ossian Health Communities, 215 David Rd. in Ossian.
• Family Farm and Home Trick or Treat: 2-6 p.m. at 990 N Main St. in Bluffton.
• Bethlehem Lutheran and New Hope Lutheran Trunk or Treat: Available from 4-6 p.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church, 8643-8691 IN-1 in Ossian.
• Local 84802 Women’s Committee Trunk or Treat: 4-6 p.m., Union Hall, 1355 S Wayne St. in Bluffton.
• Ouabache State Park Fall Festival: Trick or treat at the campground from 4-6 p.m. and follow a special “spooky treat trail” from 4-5:30 p.m. For the safety of trick or treaters, the campground road will be closed during this time.
• Wells County 4-H Spooktacular: From 6-9 p.m., enjoy carnival games, prizes, hay rides, a bounce house and more at the 4-H fairgrounds, 1240 4-H Park Rd. in Bluffton. Admission costs for $1 or one canned food item. For older youth and adults, the “spooky forest” will be open from 7-9 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 27
• River Terrace Trick or Treat: Enjoy food, games, treats and more from 1-3 p.m. at 400 Caylor Blvd. in Bluffton.
• Hope Missionary Church Trunk or Treat: Celebrate with candy, food and games from 2-5 p.m. at both Bluffton and Ossian branches.
Tuesday, Oct. 29
• Markle Health and Rehabilitation Trick or Treating: From 5-7 p.m., trick or treat with the residents at Markle Health and Rehabilitation, 170 N Tracy St. in Markle. The first 50 children will also receive a pumpkin.
Wednesday, Oct. 30
• Bluffton Church of the Nazarene Trunk or Treat: Beginning at 6:30 p.m., celebrate with a bounce house, hayrides, candy and other fun for kids.
Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31
Door-to-door trick or treating: Bluffton, 5-7:30 p.m.; Markle, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Ossian, 6-8 p.m.; Warren, 6-8 p.m.
• Boo in Bluffton, downtown Bluffton: Dress in costume and visit participating downtown businesses and the City Gym from 5-6 p.m. Participating businesses on the outskirts of town will hand out treats from 6-7 p.m.
• First Church of Christ Trunk or Treat: 5:30-7:30 p.m. 909 W Spring St. in Bluffton.
• Christian Care Trunk or Treat: 6-7 p.m. at 720 E Dustman Rd.
• Teen Halloween Party: 6-7 p.m. at the main branch of the Wells County Public Library.
• Happy Harvest Goodie Grab: 6-8 p.m. at Ossian Church of the Nazarene, 302 N Metts St. in Ossian.
