Tigers sweep Cadets in boys’ tennis to finish season

Bluffton swept Concordia in boys’ tennis on Thursday.

The Tigers finish the regular season with a 13-4 record with the win.

Individual results:

• Nolan Lambert defeated Evan Gerig 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles.

• Anthony Hartman defeated Nico Conley 6-0, 7-6 (9-7) at no. 2 singles.

• Jacob Ribich defeated Hudson Kraft 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

• Ben Maggard and Coy Lantz defeated Ashton Cramer and Adam Bible 6-0, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.

• Kade Abbett and Dane Schlagenhauf defeated Nick Motter and Nolan Nutter 6-1, 6-0.

Concordia won the lone junior varsity match with Jude Peters defeating Graham Linderwell 5-7, 6-3, (10-8).

The sectional will begin on Tuesday at Bluffton.

Raiders earn winning record with win over Wildcats

Southern Wells defeated Whitko at home in fourth sets. Thursday night.

The Raiders won by scores of 25-15, 27-29, 25-18 and 25-19. The win breaks the .500 mark at 10-9 on the season.

Abbie Powell had 23 kills, five blocks and 15 digs. Kila Shelley had nine kills, four blocks and 11 digs. Sydney Alstoft 31 assists and two aces. Bristal Chapman had five aces and seven digs.

Southern Wells will be at the ACAC Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.

Tigers win five-set match over Panthers in volleyball

Bluffton won in a five-set thriller at Eastbrook Thursday night.

The Tigers won by scores of 25-20, 14-25, 15-25, 25-21 and 15-12. The Tigers are now 5-12 on the season.

Stat leaders: Maryn Schreiber 13 kills, Kamryn Ault 24 assists, Konley Ault two aces, Rori Drayer 21 digs and Schreiber three blocks.

Bluffton lost the junior varsity match 2-1 (25-22, 19-25, 7-15). Stat leaders: Ava Trexler and Lucymda Mace with four kills, Ella Borror and Kamryn Ault five assists, Ava Trexler and Breeanna Schmidt two aces, Trexler 12 digs and Bridget Steffen two blocks.

Bluffton will be at the ACAC Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.

Knights drop to Lions 

in boys’ tennis match

Norwell fell in conference play in tennis at home to Leo Thursday night.

The Knights fell 4-1, dropping to a 6-8 record to finish the regular season.

• Jonathan Plattner (L) defeated Braylonn Troutt 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.

• Maddox Nelson and Charlie Amstutz (L) defeated Eddie Archbold and Ayden Quintanilla 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

• Kasey Kissner and Parker Wilson (L) defeated Rylan Heyerly and Dylan Randol 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) at No. 2 doubles.

Norwell also fell in the junior varsity match 7-2.
