Margaret A. Crandall, 91 of Bluffton passed away on Monday afternoon, July 15, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital.

Margaret was born on May 12, 1933, in Rockford, Ohio, to Leonard H. and Mary Margaret (Harruff) Toms. She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1951. She worked at Pauline’s Dress Shop, Wells County Public Library, Ruth’s Dress Shop, Pop Hinkle’s Drug Store and Caylor-Nickel Clinic X-Ray department. Margaret volunteered for Wells Community Health Services, Wells Community Hospital for 20 years, Wells County Public Library, LifeLine, and was on the board of Wells County Crippled Children and Adults. Margaret was a member of First Reformed Church of Bluffton, Friends of the Library and Allen County Genealogy. She enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel and eating with her friends. She was an avid Dolphins, Packers and I.U. basketball fan.

On Christmas Eve in 1953, Margaret and Jerry Crandall were married in Bluffton. They shared 69 years of marriage together, until his passing on April 20, 2022.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Sills of Bluffton, along with three grandchildren; Jamie (Mark) Hillhouse of Greenwood, Eric (Emily) Sills of Noblesville and Laura (Abu Sesay) Sills of Delaware, Ohio, and six great-grandchildren: Aidan Patrick Sills, Hailey Lynn Hillhouse, Cole Michael Hillhouse, Caleb Parker Hillhouse, Nicholas Scott Sills and Claire Ann Sills.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry.

A private family service will be held with burial at Elm Grove Cemetery.
