Knights split with Bulldogs in away track and field meet
Norwell split the road track meet with New Haven Wednesday night.
The Knight boys won 75-56, while the girls lost 55-52.

Apaches outscore the Tigers in baseball
Bluffton fell to 1-4 on the baseball diamond at Wabash 23-13 Wednesday night.
In addition to the 33 total runs, both teams combined for 25 hits and 11 errors.
Axton Beste went 2-5 at the plate with three RBI in the leadoff spot, while AJ Streveler went 2-4 with three RBI. Easton Blair had a 2-3 night with two RBI. Braxton Betancourt and Nick Pastore had the other RBI.
On the mound, the Tigers walked 14 batters and allowed 13 hits.
Streveler picked up the loss.
Bluffton will host Oak Hill at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13.
Panthers score 6 in the 6th inning to beat Raiders
Southern Wells fell to 1-2 on the baseball season with a 8-4 defeat to Eastbrook at home Wednesday.
The Raiders held a 4-2 lead before a six-run, sixth inning from the Panthers. The seventh inning was not played.
Southern Wells had two hits in the game: one by Landon Johnson and one from Robby Freimuth. Jakob Gearheart walked three times in the game.
On the mound, Wyatt Yoder threw four innings and allowed two runs (one earned), struck out six, gave up one hit and walked five.
Southern Wells will host South Adams in a nonconference game at 5 p.m. Monday, April 15.
Parks homers, but Raiders lose to Spartans in softball
Southern Wells fell on the road to Homestead 14-4 in softball Wednesday night.
The Raiders fall to 0-3 on the season.
The team got a three-run blast from Emma Parks, her second of the season, in the game, along with an RBI single by Collena Reeves and a double by Kyah Thomas. Gracie Reeves and Morgan Jones added singles.
Southern Wells will host Easbtrook pending weather at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11.
Tigers go 1-1 in track meet with Vikings, Braves
The Bluffton track team split its season opener at Huntington North on Tuesday.
The boys earned a 115-106 win over the Vikings, while Bellmont scored 21 points. The girls finished third with 27 points. Huntington North scored 150 points to claim the victory, while Bellmont had 65 points.

Norwell torches Eagles in JV softball by 12 runs
Norwell’s junior varsity softball team doubled up Columbia City 24-12 Tuesday night.
The Knights had 19 RBI on 19 hits and walked 10 times in the contest.
Ayla Nern went a perfect 5-5 on the night with six RBI. She hit two triples and a double. Carli Fausz and Bria Reinhard tallied three hits each and two RBI. Kaitlee Reinhard and Brielle Foss also had two hits and added three total RBI.
Other hitting contributions came from Alli Crowwent 1-1 with a triple and two RBI. Angie Rogers, Ella Smith and Allie Dillion had RBI.
Bria Reinhard picked up the win in her three innings. She allowed seven runs (all unearned) and gave up one hit with five walks.
Knights win middle school tennis match over Eagles
The Norwell tennis team opened the season with a 5-0 sweep over Indian Springs Tuesday.

• Mallory Young and Chloe Comer won 7-6 at No. 1 doubles.

Norwell will host DeKalb at home at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17.
Knights fall in both soccer matches to Barons
The Norwell boys’ and girls’ soccer teams dropped their season openers to DeKalb Tuesday night.
The boys lost 3-2 and the girls lost 2-1.
Blake Fuess scored both of the goals for the Knights, while Leah Randol scored the one for the girls, assisted by Annabelle Gill.
Both teams will travel to New Haven at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 11.
